According to the Italian newspaper Republica, the actor's passing occurred at the Rizzoli hospital on the island.

He had reportedly been receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed illness while filming "Cassino" on Ischia. The circumstances surrounding his final days remain shrouded in secrecy.
